Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data AnswerMonk collects when you run an AI-visibility audit or use the platform, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices and rights you have.
Who we are
AnswerMonk (https://www.answermonk.ai) is a GEO / AEO audit tool that measures how brands appear in AI search answers. The service is operated by Dreamport Technology Private Limited, an India company (CIN U78100RJ2025PTC104714), whose registered address is 72 Mangal Vihar (MCL), Scheme No. 5, Bhoggore, Alwar, Rajasthan – 301001, India. In this policy, "AnswerMonk", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Dreamport Technology Private Limited operating the AnswerMonk service.
For any privacy question, or to exercise your data rights, email us at [email protected].
What data we collect
Visitors and free-audit users
You can run a basic AI-visibility audit without creating an account. When you do, we process:
- The website URL or domain you submit, together with any audit inputs such as your business category or the competitor names you provide.
- Data we generate from that submission — the buyer-intent prompts we create, the answers we record from ChatGPT, the pages we crawl on your site and on the sources those answers cite, and the resulting AI-visibility report and action plan.
- Standard technical data your browser sends (such as IP address, user agent and referring page) and basic usage analytics, described under "Cookies and analytics" below.
Account holders
If you create an account or subscribe to a paid plan, we additionally process:
- Your account email address and the details used to sign you in.
- The audits, reports and saved domains associated with your account.
- Your plan and subscription status. The free audit tier requires no signup; paid monitoring is $19/month. Payments are handled by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers.
Connected Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 (optional)
You can optionally connect Google Search Console (GSC) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to enrich your report. This uses Google OAuth and requests read-only access. When connected we process: the metrics we read from the property you authorise (such as search queries, impressions, clicks, average position, index coverage, sessions, traffic channels and key events); the email address of the Google account that authorised the connection, so you can see which account a site is connected as; and the OAuth tokens that let us make those read-only calls. We never write to, change or delete anything in your Google account. Exactly how this data is used, who it is shared with, and how to delete it is set out in Google user data below.
How we use data
- To run your audit: generate buyer-intent prompts, query ChatGPT, record where your brand and competitors appear, crawl your site and cited sources, and build your report and action plan.
- To provide account features — saving reports, monitoring domains over time on paid plans, and checking whether fixes changed the AI answers.
- To operate, secure, debug and improve the service, including aggregated, non-identifying usage analysis.
- To communicate with you about your account, the audits you requested, and important service updates.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your submitted URLs, connected analytics data or reports for advertising.
Google user data
This section applies specifically to Google user data — everything we receive through your optional Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 connection: the read-only metrics we fetch, the email address of the authorising Google account, and the OAuth tokens themselves.
How we use it
We use Google user data for one purpose: to build and improve the AnswerMonk reports and dashboards for the site you connected, for you and the people you share them with. It replaces estimated figures in your report with your own measured data. We do not use it for any other product, customer or purpose.
Who we share, transfer or disclose it to
We do not sell Google user data, and we do not transfer or disclose it to third parties for any purpose other than providing and improving the features you connected it for. In detail:
- Hosting — the only third party that receives it. Google user data is stored in our application database, which runs on managed infrastructure operated by Railway (United States). Railway holds it solely as our hosting sub-processor, under its data-processing terms, and makes no independent use of it.
- Never sent to AI engines. Google user data is never included in the prompts we send to OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude) or Google Gemini, and it is never used to develop, train, improve or fine-tune any generalised artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model — ours or anyone else’s.
- Never sent to our search and SEO data vendors. We do not share it with SerpAPI, DataForSEO or any other data provider we use.
- Never used for advertising or resale. We do not use or transfer it for advertising, ad personalisation, credit-worthiness or lending decisions, and we never sell or transfer it to data brokers or information-resale services.
- People you choose. Inside the product, reports and dashboards built from your connected data are visible to members of your own AnswerMonk workspace, and to anyone you deliberately give a report share link to. Nobody else can see them — a connected site’s data is never served anonymously.
- Our own staff. A limited number of authorised AnswerMonk personnel may access it where strictly necessary to operate, secure or debug the service, or to give you support you have asked for.
- Legal obligations. We may disclose it where we are legally required to — for example under a binding court order or a valid legal process — or where necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or a security incident.
How we store it, and how you delete it
OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and all traffic between AnswerMonk and Google is encrypted in transit over HTTPS/TLS. Access is read-only throughout.
You can end our access at any time, in either of two ways: use Disconnect Google on your Connect Sources page in AnswerMonk, or remove AnswerMonk from your Google Account permissions. Disconnecting deletes the stored OAuth tokens immediately. Metrics we had already cached are deleted together with the reports they informed, or sooner if you ask us at [email protected].
AnswerMonk’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
AI sub-processors and third parties
Running an audit means sending prompts to third-party AI providers and using specialist data providers. Each sub-processor processes data only to perform its function for us, under its own terms:
- AI providers — OpenAI (ChatGPT), which receives the generated prompts and returns the answers we record; Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini), whose models help generate report insights from recorded data.
- Search and SEO data — SerpAPI and DataForSEO, used to gather search-result and related SEO signals.
- Google — for the optional GSC and GA4 connections and for site analytics.
- Hosting — Railway, which hosts the application and its PostgreSQL database.
The prompts we send to AI providers describe a category and the brands in it; we never include your account credentials, or any data from a connected Google Search Console or GA4 property, in them. For the current list of sub-processors and how we secure data, see Sub-processors & Security.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies: essential cookies that keep your session working, and analytics cookies. For product analytics we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand, in aggregate, how the site and the tool are used. You can control cookies through your browser, and our Cookie Policy explains each category and how to decline non-essential cookies.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Audit inputs, recorded answers and generated reports are kept while they remain useful to you — for account holders, while your account is active; for anonymous free audits, for a limited period so that your report link keeps working.
- Account data is kept while your account is open, and is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after you close it, unless we must retain it to meet a legal obligation.
- Connected GSC and GA4 access ends as soon as you disconnect or revoke it; metrics we cached from it are deleted on the same basis as the reports they informed.
- Aggregated, non-identifying analytics that cannot single you out may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Indian users have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; users in the EEA or UK have rights under the GDPR.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account and tell us what you would like to do. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
International data transfers
AnswerMonk is operated from India, and your data is processed there. Because we rely on the sub-processors listed above, some data is also processed in other countries, including the United States (for example by our AI-engine, analytics and data providers). Where data crosses borders, we rely on the safeguards and contractual terms those providers offer to keep it protected.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit data to authorised personnel, and hosting on managed infrastructure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we review our practices and work to keep them current. There is more detail on our Sub-processors & Security page.
Children
AnswerMonk is a business tool and is not directed to children. The service is intended for users aged 18 or over, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product and the processors we rely on evolve. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date shown on this page, and we will highlight significant changes where appropriate. Continuing to use AnswerMonk after an update means you accept the revised policy.
