Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how AnswerMonk — operated by Dreamport Technology Private Limited — uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.answermonk.ai. It covers what these technologies are, exactly which ones we set, why we use them, and how you can control or switch them off.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. It lets the site remember information between pages and across visits — for example, that you are signed in. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by another service loaded on the page are called third-party cookies. Related technologies, such as browser storage and pixels, work in a comparable way, and where this policy says "cookies" we mean these technologies together.

Cookies can be session cookies, which are erased when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay for a set period. This policy describes both kinds and makes clear which is which.

The cookies we use

AnswerMonk keeps its use of cookies deliberately narrow. We set one essential cookie to run the service, use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, and set a short-lived token when you choose to connect a Google account for an audit. We do not run advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies.

CookieProviderTypePurpose
Essential
Session cookie AnswerMonk (first-party) Essential Keeps you signed in and maintains your session as you move between pages. Without it, the secure areas of the app cannot function.
OAuth state token AnswerMonk (first-party) Essential / functional A transient value set only while you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, used to complete that sign-in securely. It is discarded once the connection finishes.
Analytics
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics 4 Analytics Measures how visitors use the site — pages viewed, sessions and returning-visitor counts — so we can improve it. These identify a browser, not you by name.
Google Tag Manager Google Tag Manager Analytics Loads and manages the analytics tags above. Tag Manager is a container for those tags rather than a separate tracker in its own right.

Cookie names such as _ga and _ga_* are set by Google Analytics and may vary with the AnswerMonk property identifier.

Why we use them

Our reasons fall into the same two groups as the table:

Third-party analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, both provided by Google, to measure site usage. When these tools are active, Google may process information about your visit — such as a truncated IP address, device and browser — on our behalf. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not enable Google's advertising features.

Google's own handling of this data is governed by its privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site you visit.

Managing or disabling cookies

You are in control of cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored, delete them, and block some or all of them — usually under a Privacy or Cookies section of the settings. Google's opt-out add-on, linked above, disables Analytics specifically.

Please note: if you block or delete the essential session cookie, sign-in and the secure parts of the app will stop working, because that cookie is what keeps your session alive. Blocking the analytics cookies has no effect on how the service works for you.

More information

Cookies are only part of how we handle data. For the full picture — what personal data AnswerMonk collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have — please read our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if the cookies we use change, or to reflect legal or operational requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown on this page, and material changes will be made clear on the page itself. This policy is governed by the laws of India.
